Book a free 15-minute call
Built an app and about to put real users or real money on it? Or it's live and something's bothering you? Book 15 minutes with me. Bring the app and your questions, and I'll tell you what I'd check first and whether you need help at all. It's free, and you don't owe me anything.
I'm Bryce Watson, and I spent 11 years as a software engineer at eBay.
It's one of the ways I help builders for free, along with answering questions people post in public, private heads-ups when I spot a serious problem in an app's public code, and two free checks. If you'd rather send something than talk, the free security check reads your code, and the free usability check tries your live app the way a new user would.
The short version
You pick a time on my booking page. We talk for 15 minutes on Google Meet, and you can share your screen if it helps. You leave with the few things I'd do first, in order. If you want paid help after that, ask and I'll quote it. If you don't, that's the end of it.

1 Good things to bring
- The question you keep putting off. "Can one user see another user's data?" "What breaks if a thousand people sign up tomorrow?" "Is it safe to turn on payments yet?"
- The app. A link if it's live, and what you built it with: Lovable, Bolt, Replit, Cursor, Claude Code, or by hand.
- Anything that's been flagged by a scanner, a user or an AI tool that you're not sure how to read.
- Nothing ready, or not technical? That's fine. Tell me what the app does and where you're headed, and we'll start there.
- Here about paid work instead? A review, fixes, new features, or a senior engineer alongside your team: book the same way and tell me at the start.
2 What the call is, and what it isn't
- It's advice, not a review. In 15 minutes I can tell you where to look and what I'd do first, but I can't promise to find what's wrong. For that, send me your repo for the free security check, or book the launch review: $400, with a written report in 2 business days.
- Close anything that shows keys, passwords or customer data before you share your screen. I never need them.
- I don't record the call, I don't share what you tell me, and I don't publish anything that identifies you or your app without your written OK.
- No sales pitch. If I think paid help would make sense, I'll mention it once, and I'll quote it only if you ask.
3 Pick a time
I keep 15-minute slots open each week, on weekdays during US Pacific working hours. The booking page shows the ones still free. It asks for your name and email, and I use them only for the call.
Pick a slot and Google Calendar sends you a confirmation with the Google Meet link.
Pick a timeNothing fits? Email me at bryce@watsonstandardco.com with two or three times that work for you, and I'll make one of them if I can.
